MY STORY
Becoming myself, one frame at a time.
I came out at the age of 43, after 23 years of marriage. What followed was a journey of rediscovery - of identity, desire, and purpose. One of the most unexpected sparks came from my daughter, whose fearless street photography inspired me to pick up a camera of my own. Through that lens, I began to see myself differently. And as I immersed myself in the LGBTQ+ community and built my own tribe, I found a calling: to create images that help other masc-identifying people feel seen, celebrated, and powerful.
Brian Becnel Photography was born from that passion. I specialize in boudoir and lifestyle portraiture for gay and masc-identifying men, including transgender men and non-binary folks who express themselves through masculinity. My work is about more than aesthetics; it’s about affirmation. It’s about creating a space where you can show up fully as yourself, without apology or performance, and walk away with images that reflect your truth.
